Assalamu Alaikum Brother, Sisters, and respected Elders,

The Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula has reopened for Jumma Prayer.

We will be limiting attendance to 50 people for Friday’s prayer. We will require everyone who plans to attend to pre-register between Wed at 6pm and Friday at 11am.

The link for registration is on the right side of this page, one for men and one for women. The link will open at 6pm Wednesday night of each week.

In order to speed up the check in process at the mosque, please arrive by 1:15pm to allow for quick check in and set up. Please bring your registration email with you, this will speed up the process and keep everyone safe.

Below is a quick graphic explaining what to expect and what to bring to the mosque.

We at the Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula are appalled and infuriated by the recent murders of Yassin Mohammed, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and countless others of our  African American brothers and sisters. The Prophet Muhammed said, “O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one.

There is no privilege of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin.” Islam stresses the bonds between all of humanity and the equality of all people. Forgetting this part of our religion is a deficiency. The African-American/Canadian communities continue to face discrimination and deadly violence, often at the hands of those meant to protect them.

The Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula stands firmly against this deadly plague and we recognize that every one of us is responsible for actively defeating racism and its effects. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those affected, and to the millions of our African-American brothers and sisters who are affected every day. Now is the time to be proactive- in the upcoming days we will provide a list of resources so that we may become active allies in this noble and Islamic struggle. This is neither a political issue nor an anti-police statement- it is one of humanity and upholding justice.

“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist.” (Angela Davis)

Our Lord! Let our hearts not deviate from the truth after You have guided us, and grant us your mercy; truly You are the Bestower
