Statement from the ISNP Board:

Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun.

We, as a community, are heartbroken over the brutal terrorist attack of the Afzaal-Salman family from London, Ontario. This unprovoked and cruel act of hatred has now left countless members of the Muslim community and beyond questioning why? We must continue to have faith and believe that there is greater good in the world than evil.

The last several weeks have brought many heartbreaking realities to the forefront of our newsfeeds and experiences. Between the horrific situation in Palestine, and the discovery of the remains of 215 Indigenous children at the residential school in Kamloops, BC, and now this, sadness seems to know no bounds. We must continue to believe that this world is a test and that somehow, good will prevail, by the will of the Almighty.

May Allah grant the highest Jannah to the family members lost in the devastating attack in London. May Allah protect, heal, and care for the beautiful little boy who is now orphaned.

If you would like to help, a Launchgood donation link has been set up to assist the surviving child. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, while crossing his fingers, “I and the one who looks after an orphan will be like this in Paradise.”

The donations are being administered in collaboration with members of the family,  the London Muslim Mosque-where the family was actively involved and where the child has been a student, NCCM, and Islamic Relief through this link.

Mental health support is also available through Naseeha’s organization: https://naseeha.org/

May Allah protect you and your families as we continue to navigate this difficult time.

The Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula remains here to serve you and if you need any help or assistance, please reach out to us. Blessings to you all.

Membership renewal and Renovation Donations

We are asking our members to please renew your membership for 2021. The minimum price per family is $50, although we would suggest $300 which will help us with several initiatives we have underway at the mosque.

May Allah keep us all healthy and well so that we may see each other again very soon InshaAllah.
